Pharmacy is an Art & Science; it is a very old profession. It is a Dynamic, growing & increasingly diverse profession. The Department of Pharmacy has been constituted to kindle and promote the investigative spirit among the young fresher. It has expansive knowledge of vast number of drugs, it is the profession responsible for the preparation, dispensing & appropriate use of medication and which provides service to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. The B-Pharmacy course is a very good option for those who want to pursue a career in Para-medical fields, Pharma Industry. B-Pharmacy is a 4 years course with a total of 6 semesters. The Department prepares them for the advanced technical endeavor of the undergraduate course. Contemporary technical education is strongly rooted in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Department of Pharmacy provides the integrated courses required for acquiring good foundation in Basic Science, so that they may have a smooth transition from I year to II year, ready to pursue advanced courses requiring application of skills and knowledge.


Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program meets the professional challenges of all areas of pharmacy practice. Our guiding philosophy is to prepare students to serve society as caring, ethical, and learning professionals while making them enlightened citizens. Pharm.D program requires six years of study divided into two components.

All students at the professional level begin in the fall semester. The professional program unfolds as a continuum of topics that range from the fundamentals of drug action and dosage form design up to and including the safe and efficacious use of therapeutic agents in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. Many of the courses are structured as a mix of didactic lectures and problem-based small group recitations. In the first three years of the professional program, the students complete course clusters including, the science of dosage form design, development and application drug action and use, normal and abnormal physiologic states, law, pharmacoeconomics, drug information, patient counseling and professional or specialty electives.


Department of Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is concerned with the strategies by which biologically active compounds are presented to the body so as to elicit an optimal response. Included are the design, preparation and testing of drug-delivery systems.

In course work, emphasis is placed on fundamentals underlying these subject areas. The Pharmaceutics Department offers both Masters of Pharmacy Degrees in a highly specialized course tract under the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Science. The Undergraduate programme (B.Pharm) trains the students in pharmaceutical technology, Pharmaceutical dosage forms, and advances in Drug delivery system.

Quality Teaching, high standard of Research and Collaborative projects are the main areas of this department.

Qualified, dedicated faculty members of this department are always keen to show their talents by way of technical lectures, innovations in teaching and tutorials for making skilled, better and effective practical knowledgeable Pharmaceutical Technologists in order to build up good citizens in future.

The department of pharmaceutics is expertise in research areas such as ocular drug delivery systems, targeted drug delivery system, mucoadhesive drug delivery system and use of natural polymers as pharmaceutical excipients. The department has made of significant contribution to the research field in terms of research publication and collaborative project works.

Pharmaceutical Analysis


The science and art of determining a drug in terms of its quality and quantity is challenging. As there is no ‘second quality’ in drugs, production of safe and potent drugs essentially require analytical technology; from the analysis of minute amounts of complex biological materials to the quality control of final dosage forms. The analytical results play decision making critical roles in pharmaceutical research and production.



The course is designed in order to fulfill the needs of pharmaceutical Industries in quality control departments. The student gets thorough knowledge on various classical and modern analytical techniques. National and international regulatory requirements with respect to quality of drugs, food and cosmetics are also dealt.


The handling and trouble shooting of the sophisticated analytical instruments like HPLC, GC, and FTIR etc.

Exhaustive knowledge of analytical technology from classical chemical methods to modern analytical technology including bioanalysis.

The analytical and bioanalytical method development and validation, stability studies, impurity profiling, pharmacokinetic studies, study on drug interaction and poison analysis.
